Spin off a child record on a custom object

Creating a related child record by hand is slow and the link back to the parent is often forgotten, breaking reporting.

Clone Record copies just the properties the child needs, and Associate Records links it back to the original automatically.

1. 1Enrol the parent custom object record.
2. 2Add Clone Record and choose Copy only selected properties, picking the fields the child needs.
3. 3Give the clone its own name so the two are easy to tell apart.
4. 4Follow with Associate Records to link the clone back to the original.

• Copy all properties or a selected set
• System fields and unique identifiers are never copied
• Name the clone or append a suffix
• Optionally copy every association
