Installation and setup guide

AuPerate adds ten programmable actions to your HubSpot workflows: run custom code, send webhooks, format data, hash and encrypt values, associate records, merge duplicates, manage deal line items, clone records, calculate dates, and transform and map data. This guide covers installing the app, connecting a HubSpot account, using the actions, and removing the app cleanly if you no longer need it.

Before you start. You need a HubSpot account with workflows, and Super Admin or App Marketplace install permissions in that account. No code deployment or infrastructure is required on your side.

1. Install and connect

  1. 1Create your AuPerate account at auperate.com and verify your email address.
  2. 2From the dashboard, choose Connect HubSpot. You are redirected to HubSpot’s own authorization screen.
  3. 3Select the HubSpot account you want to connect. You must be a Super Admin, or have App Marketplace permissions, in that account.
  4. 4Review the permissions HubSpot shows you on the scope approval screen, then choose Connect app.
  5. 5HubSpot returns you to the AuPerate dashboard, which now shows your account as connected.
  6. 6Choose a plan on the Billing page. Actions run only while a plan is active.

2. Permissions you are asked to approve

HubSpot shows these scopes on the authorization screen. AuPerate requests only what the actions need to read and write the records your workflows enroll.

ScopeWhy it is needed
oauthMaintains the secure connection between AuPerate and your HubSpot account.
automationAdds the AuPerate actions to your workflow editor and receives workflow executions.
crm.objects.contacts.read / writeRead and update contacts for actions such as Associate Records, Merge Duplicates and Clone Record.
crm.objects.companies.read / writeRead and update companies, including matching contacts to companies by email domain.
crm.objects.deals.read / writeRead and update deals, including cloning and date calculations.
crm.objects.tickets.read / writeRead and update tickets when workflows are ticket based.
crm.objects.line_items.read / writeAdd, update and remove line items on deals.

3. Add an action to a workflow

  1. 1In HubSpot, open Automation then Workflows, and create or edit a workflow.
  2. 2Choose the plus icon to add an action, then scroll to the AuPerate group.
  3. 3Pick the action you need, for example AuPerate: Merge Duplicates.
  4. 4Fill in the fields. Each action shows only the fields its selected operation needs, and property dropdowns load live from your account.
  5. 5Save the action, then turn the workflow on. Executions appear on the Logs page in your AuPerate dashboard.

Every action is documented field by field, with worked examples, in the action reference.

4. Automated and manual use

  • Automated. Actions run whenever a workflow enrolls a record. Scheduled runs on the Pro plan can also execute a saved snippet hourly, daily or weekly without a workflow.
  • Manual. In your AuPerate dashboard you can write and test snippets, manage encrypted secrets, review execution logs, and re-run a failed execution.

5. Disconnect your HubSpot account

  1. 1Open your AuPerate dashboard and go to the Account page.
  2. 2Find the connected HubSpot account and choose Disconnect.
  3. 3AuPerate deletes the stored OAuth tokens for that account immediately.
What happens to your data. Disconnecting stops every AuPerate action from running in that account. Actions already placed in your workflows remain, but return an error state and change no records. Records AuPerate previously created or updated in HubSpot are not reverted or removed; they are your data and stay exactly as they are. Your snippets, secrets and execution history stay in your AuPerate account so you can reconnect later without rebuilding anything.

6. Uninstall the app from HubSpot

  1. 1In HubSpot, go to Settings, then Integrations, then Connected Apps.
  2. 2Find AuPerate in the list and choose Uninstall.
  3. 3Confirm. HubSpot revokes the access token and removes the AuPerate actions from your workflow editor.
What happens to your data. Any workflow step that used an AuPerate action will show as unavailable and will not run, so review workflows that depended on them. CRM records created or modified earlier by AuPerate are unaffected and remain in HubSpot. Deleting your AuPerate account removes your snippets, secrets and execution history from our systems; see the privacy policy for retention details, or write to support@auperate.com to request deletion.

Frequently asked questions

Who can install AuPerate?

A user with Super Admin permissions, or App Marketplace install permissions, in the HubSpot account being connected.

Do I need HubSpot Operations Hub or Data Hub Professional?

No. AuPerate works with any HubSpot account that has workflows. It provides custom code, webhooks, data formatting and encryption without those subscriptions.

Can I connect more than one HubSpot account?

Yes. Repeat the connect flow for each account. Each connected account carries its own plan, snippets, secrets and execution history.

What happens to my workflows if my plan lapses?

The actions remain in your workflows but stop executing, and return a clear message asking you to choose a plan. No records are changed and nothing is deleted.

How do I remove AuPerate?

Disconnect the account from your AuPerate dashboard, then uninstall the app from HubSpot under Settings, Integrations, Connected Apps. Both steps are described on this page.
