Enroll on create, match on normalized phone plus country, keep the oldest record. Run in preview first.
Duplicates accumulate faster than anyone can clean them, splitting activity history across records and causing the same person to be contacted twice.
Merge Duplicates runs as records are created, matching on normalized phone numbers so formatting differences do not hide a match. Preview mode reports what it would merge before anything is changed.
- 1Enrol contacts on create.
- 2Add Merge Duplicates and choose Same phone number, which normalizes formats before comparing.
- 3Set which record survives, usually the oldest, and leave Mode on Preview only.
- 4Check the Merged Record IDs output in your workflow history for a week, then switch Mode to Merge for real.
